POSITION SUMMARY
A Psychologist is required for the CHEO Eating Disorders Program. The Psychologist will be part of an interdisciplinary team offering services to children and youth who have severe eating disorders. The Eating Disorders program includes an inpatient unit a new partial hospitalization program a day treatment program and outpatient services.


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provides psychodiagnostic and psychological assessments

  • Provides therapeutic interventions to individuals families and groups using empiricallysupported modalities including Family Based Therapy (FBT) and EmotionFocused Family Therapy (EFFT)

  • Provides consultation/liaison with the multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare environment and community professionals

  • Participates in interdisciplinary team rounds and case planning

  • Participates in and supports program outcome monitoring and clinical research activities

  • Engages in training and education of Psychology residents and practicum students within the discipline of Psychology

  • Maintains current knowledge in evidencebased practices through literature reviews consulting with clinical and community experts in the field evaluating clinical practices and participating in professional development activities in order to improve quality of care

  • Performs administrative tasks such as maintaining clinical documentation reports and progress notes workload statistics and updating health records in accordance with established standards

  • Participates in committees within the discipline of Psychology

  • Carries other responsibilities as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from a CPA and/or APA accredited university program (Essential)

  • Registration as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario or eligibility for registration (Essential)

  • Designated area of practice in Clinical Psychology with Children and Adolescents (Essential)

  • Experience assessing and treating children and youth presenting with severe eating disorders (Preferred)

  • Experience with the assessment and treatment of children and youth presenting with severe mental health difficulties (Essential)

  • Experience with group and family therapy (Essential)

  • Ability to work in a high paced interdisciplinary team (Essential)

  • Strong interpersonal skills ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals (Essential)

  • Bilingual Fluency in both French and English (Preferred)

RSUM DES FONCTIONS
Le Programme de lutte contre les troubles de lalimentation a besoin dun docteur ou dune docteure en psychologie. Le ou la psychologue fera partie dune quipe interdisciplinaire qui fournit des services aux enfants et aux adolescents atteints de troubles graves de lalimentation. Le programme des troubles de lalimentation comprend une unit dhospitalisation un nouveau programme dhospitalisation partielle un programme de traitement de jour et un service de consultation externe.
