Job Summary
The Director Accounting and Finance is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the companys financial management including accounting financial reporting budgeting forecasting tax compliance and financial planning. This role requires a highly analytical and resultsoriented individual with a deep understanding of financial strategies and a proven track record in leading highperforming accounting teams. The Director Accounting and Finance will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies to support the organizations goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the companys goals and objectives.
- Oversee annual budgeting and forecasting processes providing insight and recommendations to drive financial performance and resource allocation.
- Advise executive leadership on strategic initiatives providing datadriven insights and recommendations.
Financial Operations and Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee monthend quarterend and yearend closing processes ensuring accuracy timeliness and adherence to internal controls.
- Oversee the implementation of accounting systems and software.
- Manage relationships with auditors tax authorities and other external stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead mentor and continue to develop a highperforming accounting and finance team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Set performance goals conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Promote crossdepartmental collaboration and best practices in financial management across the organization.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Establish and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with policies procedures and regulatory standards.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance functions including coordination with external advisors for tax filings and reporting.
- Lead risk assessment initiatives including operational financial and strategic risk analysis to support sustainable growth.
- Review contract terms assess financial implications and make recommendations on agreements that involve significant expenses revenues or financial commitments (e.g. leases vendor agreements financing arrangements).
Capital Management and Investment Oversight
- Collaborate with the CEO President and executive team on capital allocation investment planning and funding strategies.
- Conduct financial due diligence on potential growth opportunities partnerships and other strategic investments.
- Provide insights and support on longterm financial planning including debt and equity financing.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field; MBA CPA or CFA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP IFRS and regulatory standards.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing financial strategies that drive organizational growth.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and financial software; advanced Excel skills are a must.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager is highly beneficial especially in managing real estate portfolios financial reporting and streamlining accounting processes.
