Job Description
WORKING METHODS ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Project duration: 1000 days
Initial contract duration: 220 days
Expected start date: ASAP
Service delivery mode: FarSite (fully remote)
Nationality: EU Only!
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
at least 2 years of specific expertise in defining test plans and test cases.
at least 2 years of specific expertise in writing test scenarios and scripts.
at least 2 years of specific expertise in a Test Management and Defect Tracking tools (e.g. Jira Katalon)
at least 2 years of specific expertise in relational databases and SQL.
DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS
Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:
Definition of test plans and test cases
Construction of test scenarios and scripts
Execution of tests.
Create reports / documentation of test results errors and issues to be fixed.
Collaborate with the business analysts users project managers and the developers.
Ensure the information systems meet the business requirements.
Ensure the information systems meet the standards and specifications.
Participate in technical working groups progress meetings and meetings with the users.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:
Very good experience in Testing methodologies.
Good knowledge of testing technologies tools and techniques.
Handson experience in manual testing.
Good knowledge of a Test Management tool.
Knowledge of a Defect Tracking tool.
Experience in test data preparation preferably with SQL databases.
Experience in webbased technologies and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
ISTQB certification will be an advantage.
Awareness of software development and service methodologies (e.g. Agile).
Ability to apply high quality standards.
Ability to cope with fast changing technologies.
Very good communication skills with technical and nontechnical audiences.
Autonomous.
Strong organisational and timemanagement skills.
Attention to details.
Analysis and problemsolving skills.
Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
Ability to participate in technical meetings and communicate clearly on technical matters.
Experience of automation testing tools such as Selenium Jenkins or JavaScrip is a plus
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission candidates should also have the following nontechnical skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment rapid selfstarting capability and experience in working in team.
Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
Ability to work in multicultural environment on multiple large projects and to adapt easily to new and evolving situations.
Excellent Team Player.
Ability to understand speak and write English (C1/C2). Other European languages will be an advantage.
High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG CONNECT Unit R3 contain personal and confidential data.
Preferably to have relevant experience in the public sector.
Good knowledge of Digital Service Act (DSA) would be an advantage.
Qualifications :
A minimum educational qualification is: Level of education corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework which typically corresponds to a bachelor degree of 3 years.
