ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:

Theatre & General Ward Roles Flexible Shifts Including Nights

Are you enthusiastic dependable and ready to make a real difference in patient care We have exciting opportunities for Orderlies to join our friendly and hardworking team at our Fitzroy campus.

Were seeking motivated individuals for casual roles across both theatres and general wards with flexible shift options including night duty.

About the Role

As an Orderly youll play a key part in supporting hospital operations ensuring the safe movement of patients and equipment and helping maintain a clean and efficient environment within Perioperative Services.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Transporting and safely transferring patients between departments within the operating suite and to/from nearby hospitals

  • Maintaining cleanliness in perioperative areas (floors walls shelving tearooms etc.)

  • Handling and delivering equipment between departments and hospitals as required

  • Managing soiled linen biomedical and general waste in compliance with PPE protocols

  • Cleaning patient care areas including recovery and theatre spaces

ABOUT YOU:

  • Certificate III Health Services Assistant

  • The ability to work autonomously and within a Team

  • Physically fit

  • Excellent communication

  • An awareness of patient confidentiality and application of relevant privacy legislation

  • Previous training in Manual Handling and/or safe lifting techniques

  • Highly developed verbal communication skills with the ability to relate to patients and staff

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

  • Good negotiation and conflict management skills

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:
In this rewarding opportunity you will join the St Vincents Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) team as an Operating Theatre Orderly in our Theatre department at our East Melbourne campus.

This role will be permanent part time working 56 hours per fortnight. The role of the Theatre Orderly is to ensure the safe transport of patients to and from the department.
You will bring your passion for patient safety strong clear communication and the ability to work within a Team.
