The Office of Local Government (OLG) is a small yet diverse agency of professionals invested in creating healthy and prosperous communities across NSW. The role
The Manager Projects role within the Office of Local Government (OLG) is pivotal in driving legislative reform policy development and project delivery that shape the future of local government across NSW. You will lead strategic projects that enhance council capabilities improve governance and transparency and foster financially sustainable and responsive councils across NSW. This includes overseeing legislative change rewriting guidelines and standards and ensuring local councils are wellequipped to deliver highquality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Legislative and Policy Reform: Drive projects that modernise local government legislation develop impactful policies and ensure alignment with state and national priorities.
  • Project Management Excellence: Scope plan and deliver key projects managing risks budgets and stakeholder engagement effectively.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with local councils regional organisations and government bodies to influence policy outcomes.
  • Capacity Building: Identify training opportunities and support knowledgesharing initiatives to build capability within local government workforces.
  • HighQuality Advice: Provide expert advice to senior executives and the Ministers Office on legislative changes policy initiatives and project impacts.

Key Challenges:

  • Navigating the complexities of legislative frameworks and local government regulations.
  • Managing diverse stakeholder interests and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Responding to emerging local government needs in rural and regional areas.
