About Umwelt

Umwelt is an Australian owned and run environmental consultancy that has been operating for over 35 years across Australia. We are a team of vibrant professionals with experience across a range of sectors including renewables infrastructure defence regulation and policy resources and the urban development sector.

Now is an exciting time to join Umwelt and be an integral part of the journey as we expand the Water Services group which includes integrated groundwater and surface water technical services. Umwelt is looking to appoint a Hydrogeologist to join either our Newcastle or Brisbane team as we continue to grow and expand our Water Services group.

About the Role:

As a Hydrogeologist you will play a crucial role in supporting the Water Services group to complete technical groundwater/surface water tasks to support client deliverables. This position is responsible for delivering sound technical work and is expected to assist technical leads principals and managers on projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake fieldwork including water sampling bore installation support and hydraulic testing
  • Review analyse and interpret groundwater data to a sound quality to contribute to the preparation of highquality reports and deliverables
  • Follow QMS procedures and project management requirements understand the project scope budget and timeframe to ensure project success
  • Contribute to the preparation of highquality reports/deliverables
  • Utilise relevant groundwater software for pumping/slug test analysis water quality analysis and bore logs and utilise visualisation and GIS software

About You:

  • Degree qualifications in Hydrogeology Engineering Geology Environmental Science or a related field
  • Preferred experience in water/environmental consulting
  • Preferred experience in groundwater fieldwork and associated inductions
  • Familiarity with safe working procedures and First aid training
  • Sound data analysis and investigation skills
  • Knowledge and experience within hydrogeology technical field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fastpaced consulting environment
  • Enjoy working in a fastpaced environment and finding innovative solutions to technical challenges
  • Enjoy working independently and with a team
