The Change and Communications Lead is essential for overseeing comprehensive organisational change management and executing effective communication strategies throughout the Council. The role ensures efficient and proactive management of change activities facilitating smooth transitions driving adoption and realising benefits. Additionally it is responsible for crafting and delivering compelling messages managing communication channels and fostering a positive communication culture.

What youll be doing:

  • Develop plan document and deliver endtoend change management across Council including change impact assessments stakeholder network maps engagement plans communications and training materials business readiness assessments and adoption monitoring.
  • Support Executive and Senior Officers to lead through change.
  • Provide implementation advice to business and project leaders on all aspects of change management delivery.
  • Identify the needs expectations and requirements of stakeholder groups in conjunction with business owners subject matter experts and program/project managers.
  • Undertake stakeholder engagement activities to gain buyin and agreement on the change approach accountabilities and ownership for key transition activities and change outcomes.
  • Identify escalate (where appropriate) and manage risks and issues that have the potential to impact the delivery of change management activities or program/project plans.
  • Play a key role in ensuring projects and organisationwide change initiatives meet benefits objectives by driving employee adoption and usage.
  • Work closely with senior business leaders to identify and deliver change initiatives through the life cycles of largescale organisational projects.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to support change initiatives across the Council.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans for the program aligning communication strategies with change management objectives.
  • Oversee and manage various communication channels including email intranet newsletters and other relevant platforms. Ensure timely and relevant distribution of information to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Support the build of change management capability within the Council mentoring and guiding other change subject matter experts.
  • Contribute to the handson development of change products for the organisation to build broad capability in undertaking change across our people.

The skills and experience youll bring to the role:

  • Experience and demonstrated track record in applying Change Management principles methodologies and tools for multiple projects particularly change impact assessments stakeholder management engagement communication and training plans s 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across culture strategic process and system change projects and programs.
  • Demonstrated project and change management skills to enable the effective management of Enterprise Change and reporting processes across multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated welldeveloped interpersonal facilitation and negotiation skills with the proven ability to negotiate suitable outcomes and resolve conflict in a complex environment with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering communications inside and outside the organisation.

Required Certifications & Qualifications: 

  • Tertiary qualification in business management and communication related discipline and demonstrated extensive experience in change management roles.
  • An appropriate Change Management certification e.g. PCI APMG Prosci or demonstrated equivalent competency.
