DIRECTOR OF PROGRAM DESIGN

OPTIMAL CANDIDATE:
As the Director of Program Design you will be the manager of a strong department as it continually strives to overdeliver on client expectations. Hello! Destination Management specializes in destination management services as well as the design and production of special events. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fastpaced highenergy work environment where excellence is the norm. The successful leader will be a strong motivator supportive and able to balance a heavy workload while maintaining a team. They will possess 6 years in the hospitality experience with DMC experience required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Program Design will oversee the Program Design Designers and Associates. They will manage the distribution of projects based on inclusions of the client request and skills required to complete. This role requires a strong ability to manage multiple projects and team members while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor. This is a deadline driven leadership role that requires expert knowledge of event planning and DMC services. Requirements also include solid leadership attention to detail organization precise oral and written communication multitasking meeting deadlines cooperation teamwork and the ability to design and create DMC experiences and proposal writing.
WORK HOURS:
The position is Monday through Friday with a minimum of 40 hours a week nights and weekends may be required.
EXPERIENCE: 6 years minimum
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Employee supervision
- DMC knowledge
- Training of proposal generation system
- Talent recruitment and hiring
- Solid creative writing skills
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Contract negotiation
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong organization and time management skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Distribute client requests amongst the Program Design team
- Oversee team deadlines to ensure Account Executive and client expectations are met
- Educate the Program Design and Sales teams on services
- Create new and innovative DMC experiences
- Mange supplier database and ensure it is up to date and relevant
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships including team education
- Manage assigned projects from proposal design through program contracting
