We're working confidentially on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy to recruit both Senior and Associate OHL Design Engineers. These roles are part of a high-profile, multi-year programme transforming the UK's electricity transmission network-connecting renewable energy sources to millions of homes and businesses.

The Opportunity
You'll join a team delivering large-scale overhead line (OHL) projects 33kV-525kV) as part of one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure upgrades. From early-stage routing through to detailed, construction-ready design, you'll help ensure a future-proof, low-carbon grid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or support the design of OHL routes, towers, and foundations

• Produce and check designs using PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, and AutoCAD

• Create feasibility studies, technical reports, and design documentation

• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams across planning, procurement, and delivery

• Mentor junior engineers (Associate level) and manage design teams (Senior/Associate)

What We're Looking For:

• Strong experience in OHL transmission line design 33kV-525kV)

• Proficiency with relevant software: PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, AutoCAD

• Working knowledge of UK standards, clearances, safety, and environmental constraints

• Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline; professional chartership (or close to it)

• National Grid BESC/Person certification (preferred)
