Job Description
Overview
The SAP ABAP BRF Developer plays a critical role in the design development and implementation of business rules using the Business Rule Framework (BRF) within SAP environments. This position requires a deep understanding of ABAP programming language and the BRF tool to create robust and efficient business logic solutions that drive automated decisionmaking processes across various SAP modules. The developer collaborates closely with functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications ensuring alignment with business needs. The role encompasses not only development but also troubleshooting testing and performance optimization to enhance the overall efficiency of business operations. As organizations increasingly rely on digital transformations the expertise of an SAP ABAP BRF Developer becomes indispensable to streamline processes reduce operational costs and support strategic objectives through effective rule management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop business rules using SAP BRF.
- Write and optimize ABAP programs related to BRF implementation.
- Implement and develop decision tables rules and workflows in BRF.
- Perform unit testing and debugging of BRF applications.
- Ensure integration of BRF with other SAP modules.
- Conduct performance tuning for ABAP programs and BRF rules.
- Document development processes and technical specifications.
- Provide support and maintenance for existing BRF solutions.
- Participate in change management and version control activities.
- Engage in system upgrades and evaluations of new BRF functionalities.
- Assist in training users on BRF functionalities and best practices.
- Stay updated on SAP best practices and emerging technologies related to BRF.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
* Must have 1012 Years of ABAP Development experience with at least 3 years experience in BRF.
* Must have experience in creating BRF Functions Rules/Expressions and Rulesets Decision tables.
* Expert in debugging ABAP objects and BRF.
* At least three full lifecycle implementation projects (from Blueprint/Explore through GoLive).
* Understands SAP Activate Methodology.
* Ability to lead workstream activities on a project.
* Understands of integration between modules.
* Leads detailed modulespecific configuration and master data development.
* Expertise in areas like Reports Module Pool Forms RFC BAPI BADI BDC User Exits enhancement points and ABAP OOP s.
* Experience/Knowledge of Tax and revenue module is desirable.
