Overview
The TechOps Linux role is critical for maintaining and optimizing the Linux environment within the organization. This position is designed for seasoned professionals with over 8 years of experience who are adept at ensuring maximum uptime and performance of server applications. TechOps professionals must possess an indepth understanding of various Linux distributions along with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. They play a vital role in system administration configuration management and the orchestration of server resources which are essential for supporting the companys technological infrastructures. Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux server environments across various platforms.
- Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement system updates upgrades and patches as required.
- Manage user accounts permissions and access controls on Linux systems.
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure system security by applying best practices and monitoring for vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Assist in the integration of cloud technologies to support scalability.
- Document processes for infrastructure management and system configurations.
- Optimize performance of databases and applications hosted on Linux servers.
- Setup virtualization technologies for efficient resource usage.
- Evaluate and implement monitoring tools to track system health.
- Provide second and thirdlevel support for escalated issues.
- Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure scalability initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in Linux system administration.
- Proficient in at least one major Linux distribution (e.g. Red Hat Ubuntu CentOS).
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Bash Python Perl).
- Understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware KVM).
- Familiarity with container technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of cloud environments (e.g. AWS Azure GCP).
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet Chef).
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a teamoriented environment.
- Certification in Linux (e.g. RHCE LPIC) is a plus.
- Prior experience working in TechOps or related operations roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL) is advantageous.
