We are currently in search of aGallery Associate for an Art Gallery located in San Francisco CA. This is a PartTime (21 hrs./wk.) Fully In Person Ongoing Temporary assignment.
ORGANIZATION: Art Gallery
LOCATION: San Francisco CA (Fort Mason)
POSITION TITLE: Gallery Associate
DURATION: temporary (ongoing)
SCHEDULE: Part Time (21 hrs./wk.) Fully In Person
HOURLY RATE: $2325/hr. DOE
Position Summary: The Gallery Associate will have a passion for photography and art along with excellent customer service skills.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 3 years of experience in photography and/or contemporary art highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a gallery or retail environment is a plus
- Basic knowledge of art sales and customer engagement strategies preferred
- Experience with MailChimp Zoho (CRM) EventBrite and/or Adobe Illustrator highly preferred
How You Will Spend Your Day:
- Greet and assist visitors in the gallery providing information about the exhibited works and artists
- Maintain a clean and organized gallery space ensuring that artworks are properly displayed and cared for
- Handle transactions at the point of sale including processing payments and managing inventory
- Assist in the planning and execution of gallery events including openings artist talks and workshops.
- Engage with visitors to foster a welcoming atmosphere encouraging patrons to explore and appreciate the artwork
- Collaborate with the gallery team on marketing and promotional efforts to attract new visitors and promote exhibitions
- Reviewing emails/correspondence working on the newsletter/email blasts
