Position Summary/Purpose:
Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents needs.
GCU maintains a partnership with Hustle PHX located at 1 North 1st Street Suite 708 Phoenix AZ 85004. Hustle PHX provides intellectual social and financial capital to lowincome underserved entrepreneurs to start businesses which glorify God and serve their community. They hope to empower entrepreneurs to support themselves their families and communities through wealth creation and job opportunities. The CSLP student workers work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Hustle PHX; however CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e. fall/spring).
CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b) community services are defined as Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents particularly lowincome individuals or to solve particular problems related to their need. These services must be open and accessible to the community.
As an FWSCSLP approved position its services will be offered to nonGCU community members (i.e. local residents).
Note: All FWS and FWSCSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at to be reviewed for FWSeligibility and awarded FWS.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
Enhance capacity to provide financial literacy financial planning budgeting saving and other financial counseling activities in distressed and underserved neighborhoods that Hustle USA serves. The Support Coordinator will be responsible for community outreach and recruitment of new clients into the Hustle Community Development Loan Fund. In addition the Support Coordinator will be responsible for:
Helping borrowers gather the necessary documentation and information for loan applications ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Assist with loan servicing tasks such as payment processing and communication with borrowers.
Assist borrowers with technical assistance in the Hustle USA lending system.
General administrative duties related to the Hustle Loan Fund including data collection and analysis.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Lending to ensure compliance with CDFI policies regulations and guidelines.
Assist with the development of Hustle USA Lending curriculum.
Conduct community outreach and recruitment of new clients to the Hustle USA Affinity Lending and Consumer Lending programs.
Assisting or conducting oneonone or group orientation sessions for new program clients to explain Hustle USA lending services as well as the responsibilities of a new client.
Coordinating financial planning workshops and individual financial counseling to meet the needs of Hustle USA clients including conducting group education meetings oneonone meetings and delivering workshops/webinars.
Assisting in the development and execution of marketing strategies to promote program client participation.
Providing program clients with information on the different financial products and services (e.g. loan products checking/saving accounts etc.) offered by Hustle USA.
Conducting scheduled followups with program clients to ask how they are doing determine if they need additional help and help them remain engaged in order to meet their established plan deadlines.
Performing other duties which support Hustle USA including but not limited to coordinating client meetings preparing presentations conducting research reviewing training and outreach materials reviewing applications for programs and services and developing material that supports Hustles financial counseling and outreach activities.

Possess strong ethics integrity and sense of responsibility.
Must have reliable transportation.
Previous Mentoring a plus.
Ability to speak a second language a plus.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
Enrolled at GCU as a fulltime student in a Bachelors program or Masters program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
