Job Description

TITLE: Curriculum Coordinator
PROGRAM: Day Services
REPORTS TO:Assistant Director Day Services Operations
DATE:May 2024

Hours: Monday Friday 8 am 4pm 40 hours
Summary
Responsible for the development and implementation of curriculum plans for individuals in Day Services that align with DHSP and/or ISP goals.
Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with the goals and objectives of the Day Habilitation Program.
  • Design instructional materials activities and resources that address the unique needs and abilities of individuals including 1:1 specialized group generalized group and community based activities
  • Collaborate with program staff clinicians and direct care providers to integrate curriculum strategies into daily programming.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of individual and group progress and adjust curriculum plans accordingly.
  • Provide training and support to program staff on implementing curriculum activities promoting skill acquisition and collecting data
  • Stay abreast of best practices research and trends in curriculum development for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to curriculum planning implementation and evaluation.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review progress set goals and develop individualized plans for program participants.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence empowerment and selfadvocacy.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to enhance opportunities for community integration and participation.
  • Coordinate special events for Day Habilitation participants both in and outside of the building site
  • Serves as an active contributing and problem solving member of the agency team. Participates in supervision meetings with supervisor as directed.
  • Acts in manner consistent with organizational values mission and service delivery goals.
  • Meets obligation as a mandated reporter following all DPPC requirements.
  • Completes and maintains current on all mandatory training requirements.
  • Ensures knowledge of and implementation of all agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensures completion of all incident and accident documentation within required timelines.
  • Performs direct supportrelated tasks in emergencies or as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Two years of instructional training or teaching experience
  • Two years of experience working with the DD population.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health record systems preferred
  • Previous experience working with dually diagnosed clients highly desirable. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experiences will be considered.
Computer Skills
Incumbent must be computer literate and have demonstrated proficiency in the use of email and the Internet. Must have advanced skills in EXCEL WORD Power Point and remote technology (i.e. ZOOM).
Analytical Skills
Must have demonstrated ability to problemsolve handle emergencies meet deadlines work remotely when necessary and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Language Skills
Mastery of the English language required as demonstrated by the ability to read and write instructions; ability to read analyze and interpret legal documents field journals financial reports technical procedures policy/procedure manuals and government regulations. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from participants families regulatory agencies or the general public. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedures and effectively present information to senior management. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings in both facetoface and remote modalities.
Certificates Licenses Registrations
Valid Drivers Licensee
Current First Aid and adult CPR certification required within first 6 months on the job; thereafter employee is expected to remain current with First Aid and adult CPR certification.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an incumbent encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions when traveling. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is expected to engage in appropriate professionalism in both facetoface and remote interactions. The employee must have home internet capabilities to support remotely working when necessary and appropriate.
