Job Description

Ergon Refining in Vicksburg currently has an opening for a Mechanical Integrity Engineer. This position develops and maintains programs as needed to improve the overall mechanical integrity and reliability of the refinery and terminal by utilizing uptodate inspection techniques and other reliability technologies to predict and prevent failures before occurrence by recommending repairs or replacement of applicable equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure refinery fixed assets are in compliance with regulatory requirements and are mechanically reliable throughout their life cycle.
  • Supervise mentor and provide technical and subject matter expertise to unit inspector and QA/QC Inspector roles.
  • Develop audit and analyze Key Performance Indicators for inspection of fixed equipment.
  • Review and approve systemization circuitization and corrosion monitoring locations (CML) allocation for all piping and fixed assets in all process units.
  • Review and approve inspection work plans repair plans and fitness for service (FFS) level 1 assessments.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate Level 2 FFS assessments.
  • Coordinate piping or equipment rerate activities as required by inspection results FFS evaluation or MOC.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with destructive and nondestructive techniques API and ASME fabrication and inspection codes welding and basic metallurgy are preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD PCMS and Microsoft Windows Word Excel and Access is desired.

The person selected must be selfmotivated with strong leadership communication and organizational skills and successfully complete and pass a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE).

Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screen and background check. A clean MVR is required.
