Role description:

Our growing Design Team in the Akron OHoffice is seeking a Staff Civil/ Process Mechanical Engineerwith a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our Water Business Line. Arcadis serves many clients and project types in many market sectors. We combine technical expertise a passion to serve and a willingness to be adaptable in every project to serve water industrial and environmental clients nationwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for a selfmotivated design engineer to join our team locally. The Civil/ Process MechanicalEngineer will use their experience and knowledge of water/wastewater/recycled water projects design and construction engineering and client service to successfully execute projects within the local municipal water/ wastewater market.

Role accountabilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to our team of engineers.
  • Design and construction support for water/wastewater treatment plants storm water systems distribution/collection systems and pump/lift stations.
  • Assist in creation of construction documents and specifications.
  • Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget.
  • Engage with clients to support needs and provide solutions.
  • Coordinate execution of projects with other engineering disciplines and office personnel.
  • Develop design projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering procurement and construction of water/wastewater systems for clients.
  • Create cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and analysis and use design software to solve complex challenges.
  • Interact with and oversee the work of CAD staff.
  • Use Arcadis standards and specifications for water/wastewater design and construction projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Environmental Mechanical Chemical Engineering or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in water/wastewater/recycled water facilities design and construction support.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing project drawings specifications schedules and cost estimates.
  • Client relationship skills are a plus. Functional experience with MS Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current PE License in Ohio or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Task Lead Task Manager or Design Lead experience on water/wastewater projects of various sizes.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
