Summary:
The Maintenance/Facilities Mechanic is responsible for maintaining repairing installing and inspecting mechanical equipment and facility systems across the manufacturing plant. This role involves working with CNC machines Waterjets shears and various production and facility infrastructure systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude handson experience in a manufacturing setting and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and facility care.
This is a hybrid position involving both equipment maintenance and facilities upkeep. The successful candidate will be expected to support a wide range of plant operations and infrastructure responsibilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily preventative maintenance (PMs) and inspections on production equipment including CNC mills (Haas) Flow Waterjets shears and punch presses.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Conduct cleaning and servicing tasks including garnet extraction lubrication system refills and maintenance of compressors and utility areas.
Maintain clean and orderly work areas inside and outside the facility in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Repair assemble install and dismantle fabricating machines and material handling systems using manuals layout sketches and verbal/written instructions.
Create working sketches of machine parts as needed for fabrication or rework.
Adjust and maintain powered shear blades and similar production tools.
Use hand tools and precision instruments such as micrometers dial indicators calipers and protractors to ensure repair accuracy.
Handle and store hazardous cleaning materials safely including acetone and alcohol.
Support utility and facility infrastructure projects and verify completion of tasks.
Respond promptly to supervisor instructions and work orders.
Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with strong emphasis on Haas CNC milling machines.
Technical training or certification (minimum 2 years) in electrical motor controls or mechanical systems preferred.
Ability to interpret technical drawings equipment manuals and maintenance documentation.
Basic understanding of mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
