Qualifications
Bachelors degree in communications public relations journalism or a related field required. A minimum of five years of related experience with a proven track record in public relations preferably within a higher education/healthcare setting. Possesses a strong sense of news and an ability to identify compelling stories with broad appeal recognizing opportunities to highlight the Zucker School of Medicines achievements and impact. Possess excellent writing proofreading and editing skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment. Knowledge of PR communications strategies principles and best practices. Crisis communication management experience. Flexibility and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in digital communication and content management tools such as Constant Contact WordPress Canva and Meltwater. This role may require weekend hours in addition to late evenings and early mornings as well as occasional travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Photography and photo editing skills are a plus.
