Role description:
Arcadis is searching for a Mechanical Designer to join its growing team.
Are you looking to be a part of a team that specialises in the design tendering and contract administration of mechanical systems such as HVAC process exhaust hydronics plumbing fire protection etc. You will have the opportunity to work on projects in Toronto as well as collaborating with other Arcadis offices all throughout North America. Role accountabilities:
- Design and development of mechanical systems for buildings and facilities projects while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Collaborating with mechanical engineers to support the implementation of process engineering systems
- Participating in site assessments and reviews to verify the performance and functionality of mechanical systems
- Providing technical support to project teams contractors and clients
- Assisting in the preparation of engineering calculations reports and specifications
- Coordinate withother engineering and architectural disciplines and actively participate in project planning
- Design and engineer buildingrelated systems including HVAC hydronics plumbing drainage fire protection controls and building automation systems
- Support the design of industrial systems such as compressed air lubrication and fueling systems as well as service connections for machine installations
- Analyze heating and cooling loads using computerized methods
- Assist in the development of engineering study reports
- Facilitate the production of construction documents and construction administration for projects and review and approve technical documentation under the supervision of a licensed engineer
- Conduct quality assurance checks foster innovation and drive continuous improvement within the engineering team
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma/Degree from a mechanical building services/engineering program
- Demonstrable experience in Mechanical Engineering design of industrial facilities
- Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP Micro Station Revit 3D software etc.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code Ontario Fire Code Plumbing Code NFPA and ASHRAE standards and familiarity with TSSA Fuel industrial ventilation standards and other industrial standards
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and client interaction
- Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly motivated with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders:
