- Attend to any maintenance request by other department to ensure their operation run smoothly.
- To observe cleanliness at the place of work and on the job after completion of work.
- Record all electric water and gas consumption meter readings as required.
- To carry out various repairs and maintenance items as required and record pertinent date in R&M logbook.
- To carry out as required the Hotels planned maintenance program.
- Carry out any assigned task of a reasonable nature in the Hotel.
- Liaise with AMP / Security Control Centre in matters dealing with environment control fire and safety.
- Prepared to perform relieving duties as required.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the day to day operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel.
- Assist in the keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
- On completion of daily rounds sign off any relevant section of the Maintenance Manuals.
- Liaise with the Chief Engineer regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out of order areas of the hotel are brought back into use as soon as possible.
- Complete all tasks where possible within a 15minute time frame of receiving the request.
- Report back to the Manager on Duty or Front Office the completion or delay of any task that is guest related.
Qualifications :
- Previous hotel experience desired
- Previous handyman/maintenance experience
- Electrical or plumbing certificate advantageous but not essential
- Must have working rights for Australia
- Ability to work a rotating roster including evenings weekends and public holidays
- Great command of the English language to communicate clearly with guests and staff alike
