The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities Richmond Gas Works is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Code Enforcement Inspector Digital Asbuilting within the Corrosion Compliance Group. This critical position supports regulatory compliance and public safety by ensuring the accuracy consistency and regulatory compliance of all digital asbuilt records. The selected candidate will play a key role in enforcing standards maintaining digital records supporting GIS integration and mitigating safety risks.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of Federal state and local regulations related to pipeline safety and infrastructure compliance (e.g. PHMSA Part 192 SCC). Digital asbuilt documentation standards formats and validation requirements. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including ESRI ArcGIS or similar platforms. Utility operations and pipeline infrastructure especially in relation to locating damage prevention and asset management. Best practices for data management digital recordkeeping and documentation workflows. Analyzing and interpreting technical field data for accuracy and compliance. Using GIS tools and digital mapping software to document and track utility assets. Identifying and correcting documentation errors and deficiencies. Coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to resolve compliance or mapping issues. Creating clear organized reports and visualizations to support inspections and audits. Training others on digital compliance systems and standard operating procedures. Be operator qualified on all required tasks. Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in data processing. Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences. Adapt to evolving software tools and compliance systems. Work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced fieldintegrated environment. Interpret and apply codes policies and technical procedures related to digital infrastructure compliance. Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting documentation standards.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS: Working conditions may include exposure to travel to other locations within the City of Richmond as well as outside of the City of Richmond; exposure to hazardous physical conditions such as mechanical parts electrical currents vibrations etc.; atmospheric conditions such as fumes odors dusts gases and poor ventilation; inadequate lighting; intense noise; and environmental hazards such as disruptive people imminent danger and a threatening environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Due to the nature of work assignments incumbents must be able to perform detailed work on multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions and under time constraint. While performing the essential duties of this job the employee is regularly required balance climb balance stoop kneel crouch crawl reach extending arms and hands in any direction stand walk feel talk see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to push pull grasp lift finger (pick pinch type or otherwise work primarily with fingers) feel (perceiving attributes of objects such as size shape temperature or texture) and use repetitive motion of the wrists hands and fingers. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties this classification is considered to be medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
