Job Description

Custodial Team Member

Job Summary

Maintain the cleanliness of all YWCA locations and/or summer campsites as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Interact positively with all staff and customers of the YWCA of Lubbock; utilizing open and friendly communication with all persons in the YWCA system.
  • Contribute to a team approach with ideas positive attitude dependability adherence to work schedules and flexibility.
  • Abide by all safety rules and regulations with regard to use of equipment supplies and materials while carrying out all assigned duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all facilities in accordance with regulations required by various programs including offices classrooms restrooms and common areas as assigned (floors trash surfaces toilets sinks showers).
  • Report minor maintenance needs (i.e. replacing light bulbs unclogging toilets) to supervisor and maintenance manager in writing (via email or note).
  • Report major maintenance needs (i.e. damage to facility) to supervisor and maintenance manager as soon as need is discovered and in writing when possible.
  • Report emergency maintenance problems (i.e. water leaks gas leaks security issues) to supervisor maintenance manager or another director as soon as need is discovered and prepare to assist in maintaining safety until the need can be addressed.
  • Be available by phone at all times during regular work schedule.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and events even if outside normal work schedule.
  • Take responsibility for informing supervisor and/or other administrative staff of the YWCA of Lubbock if you feel that you do not have the physical or emotional abilities to perform your assigned duties at any given time.
  • Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor or any other administrative staff of the YWCA of Lubbock.
  • Represent the organization at events as requested.
  • Perform related job duties as required

Job Qualifications

  • Learn and support the YWCA mission vision and policies to meet the goals of the organization without compromise serving as a role model for the Lubbock community both in demeanor and in lifestyle habits.
  • Minimum 18years of age with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the care and upkeep of commercial facilities.
  • Present self professionally in appearance and mannerism at all times.
  • Reliable means of transportation to and from the work site
  • Exhibit the emotional and intellectual competencies necessary for position
  • Present self professionally in appearance and mannerism at all times.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours from time to time including evenings or weekends.
  • Infrequent travel: 010 days/year.
  • Pass a criminal history background check and FBI fingerprint check.
  • Ability to relate well with a variety of populations.
