Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the IT Manager. The Network and Telecommunications Administrator is responsible for the installation configuration maintenance and support of the organizations network and telecommunication systems. This role ensures the stability and integrity of all voice data and wireless network services across multiple locations. The administrator will manage network infrastructure components including routers switches firewalls and VoIP systems while also monitoring network performance and resolving connectivity issues. This position plays a key role in maintaining secure and reliable communications and contributes to infrastructure upgrades disaster recovery planning and vendor coordination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administer monitor and troubleshoot LAN WAN VPN and wireless networks.
  • Maintain and support VoIP systems PBX hardware/software SIP trunks and related telecom infrastructure.
  • Implement and enforce network security measures including firewalls access control and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Perform regular network performance analysis patching and apply optimizations as needed.
  • Manage and support network hardware such as routers switches firewalls and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network activity using tools like SolarWinds PRTG or equivalent.
  • Coordinate with thirdparty telecom vendors and service providers for service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams technical documentation and change logs.
  • Provide technical support to endusers and helpdesk staff for network or telecomrelated issues.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution of networkrelated backup and failover procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in network and telecommunications administration required.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network Cisco CCNA or equivalent preferred.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP routing protocols (e.g. OSPF EIGRP) DNS DHCP and VPN technologies required.
  • Familiarity with network security tools and best practices required.
  • Scripting knowledge for automation of routine tasks preffered.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team required.
  • Experience with VoIP and telephony systems required.
