Overview of role:
The Trust is looking to appoint an inspirational and highly effective Sports Teaching Assistant
who is committed to supporting St Michaels to educational excellence and further developing the distinctive Christian character of educational provision and the school community.
Key details:
- Hours: Monday to Friday (9am to 4pm) (Friday: 8.30am to 3.15pm) 32.5 hours per week
- Termtime only (39 weeks per year)
- Wage: 7.55 per hour

Apprenticeship details:
- Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Duration of course: 16 months
- Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK!)
- All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside placement at school.
Full Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support PE teacher to ensure safety in all sports activities
- Set up maintain clean and store equipment and facilities
- Prepare and clean kits; manage stock first aid supplies and orders
- Arrange sports fixtures transport and administer sportswear
- Assist in lessons demonstrate techniques and act as coach/referee/scorer
- Provide clerical support: recordkeeping payments displays photocopying
- Supervise and support pupils during lessons activities and trips
- Encourage inclusion manage behavior and promote selfesteem
- Monitor and report pupil progress and behavior to teachers
- Assist in planning and running events and interschool competitions
- Follow safeguarding health & safety and data protection policies
- Engage in ongoing professional development and performance review
- Work collaboratively with staff parents community and trust partners

Skills & Personal Qualities:
- Committed to training professional development and applying learning in practice
- Experienced in supporting PE using ICT in sport and promoting a safe inclusive environment
- Knowledge of safeguarding school policies and national frameworks (e.g. SEN H&S equality)
- Strong communication teamwork and problemsolving skills; able to take initiative
- Upholds high standards integrity and supports the Christian ethos of the school
- Creates a positive wellorganized learning environment focused on pupil development and achievement
Qualifications Requirements:
- GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade 4) essential
- GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) Maths (Grade 4) essential
