Job Summary
Chloeta is seeking a professional Hydraulic Engineer to provide support and focus on the behavior and movement of fluids particularly water to solve practical engineering problems. This role involves tasks such as designing and analyzing water treatment plants flood control systems and irrigation networks for federal clients.
Job Classification: 1099 Independent Subcontractor
Duty Station: Remote/Virtual with potential travel
Duties/Responsibilities
Designing hydraulic systems such as water distribution networks and drainage systems
Analyzing the impact of water movement on surrounding environments
Conducting site inspections and field studies to gather necessary data
Developing and implementing flood control measures
Collaborating with environmental scientists and other engineering disciplines
Creating computer models to simulate hydraulic behavior and predict system performance
Supervising the construction and maintenance of hydraulic structures
Ensuring compliance with federal state and local regulations
Preparing detailed technical reports and documentation
Reviewing and approving project designs and plans
Required Skills/Abilities
Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as HECRAS SWMM or MIKE HYDRO
Strong background in fluid mechanics
Familiarity with environmental impact assessments
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Project management experience
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in computeraided design (CAD) software
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Ability to conduct fieldwork and site inspections
Knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards
Solid understanding of hydraulic principles
Detailoriented with strong problemsolving abilities
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects efficiently
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelors Degree in Civil Environmental or Hydraulic Engineering
Required: Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in the field of Hydraulic Engineering
Preferred: Masters Degree in Civil Environmental or Hydraulic Engineering
Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license
