You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailCoast Electric is currently seeking a Warehouseman to receive store and distribute materials tools and equipment within established guidelines; to maintain the warehouse in such a manner to assure easy accessibility of materials and supplies; to eliminate hazards; and to meet OSHA and Coast Electrics rules and regulations. This position will be located at the Kiln Headquarters and report to Hancock County Operations department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Warehouseman will demonstrate knowledge and abide by Coast Electrics Safety Manual regulations and operational procedures. The Warehouseman will read work orders or requisitions for accuracy before material is released and to determine items to be gathered or distributed; and fill and distribute items to other employees or load onto trucks. The Warehouseman will unload and unpack incoming shipments; open containers using hand tools; and verify material received against requisitions shipping notices or invoices to determine irregularities in order. Warehouseman will convey materials and items from receiving area to storage or to other designated areas by hand or using forklift and maintain forklift logs. The Warehouseman will know the warehouse setup and recognize when something is out of place; sort and place materials or items on racks shelves or in bins according to size type product code etc.; and keep bins stocked. The Warehouseman will prepare inventory or keep perpetual inventory records; clean warehouse by sweeping and straightening materials on shelves; break down old materials and separate according to salvage and no salvage items; load poles onto trucks using forklift; and drive to other district warehouses to receive and/or deliver materials.
The Warehouseman will create requisitions for major and minor material; verify accuracy before submitting to purchasing department; and load single and three phase transformers off and onto trucks using a forklift with loading pole section. The Warehouseman will ensure efficient operation of the warehouse in the absence of the supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to acquire a Mississippi Class A Commercial Drivers License. Must be able to operate a computer. Must be able to operate a forklift and become forklift certified. Must be able obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification. Must be able to learn and understand the proper procedure for safely loading and unloading trucks pole trailers and transformers. Must be knowledgeable of work order drawings. Must be knowledgeable of RUS construction specifications and the national electrical safety code. Must be knowledgeable of the proper and safe use of the tools and equipment used in the warehouse. Must have the ability to speak clearly to communicate with others. Must have the ability to deal with other employees and contractors in obtaining and relaying information in an effective and courteous manner.
Must have the ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure and be able to perform the four operations with like common and decimal fractions and the ability to compute ratio rate and percent and perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units. Must have the ability to read and understand manuals instructions and the like. Must have the ability to prepare reports.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing over 50 lbs. Must be able to climb using the feet and legs and/or hands and arms; must have sense of balance; must be able to stoop kneel and squat. Must be able to reach handle; work primarily with the fingers; and feel. Must be able to push and pull a cart on wheels loaded with materials weighing over 100 pounds. Must be able to talk hear and speak. Must be able to obtain impressions through the eyes of the shape size distance motion color or other characteristics of objects. The work is performed mostly inside and outside. The work performed is selfpaced.
ESSENTIAL BUSINESS AND EMERGENCY RESPONDER:
During times of natural disasters pandemics or other unique situations Coast Electric is designated as an essential business and/or emergency responder. All employees must be prepared to report to work and continue performing job duties and responsibilities at a job site or facility at any time in the event of an emergency consistent with essential business requirements or applicable local state or federal law.
