Job Description
Our Stationary Equipment Tech I is responsible for assisting in the maintenance repair and operation of stationary equipment at the airport including escalators elevators and baggage handling systems. This entrylevel position involves performing routine inspections conducting preventive maintenance tasks and assisting with equipment repairs under the guidance of experienced technicians. You will work as part of a team to ensure that all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently to support airport operations. Additionally this role requires adhering to safety protocols documenting maintenance activities and reporting any equipment issues to supervisors. The Stationary Equipment Tech I plays a vital role in maintaining the reliability and functionality of essential airport equipment.
WHAT ITS LIKE TO WORK AS A STATIONARY EQUIPMENT TECH I
You like working as a team toward a common goal
Maintain and repair stationary equipment: Ensure all fixed machinery and equipment at the airport are in optimal working condition
Conduct regular inspections of stationary equipment: Perform routine checks to identify any potential malfunctions or needed repairs
Troubleshoot technical issues with machinery: Diagnose problems and implement effective solutions for stationary equipment
Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs: Liaise with manufacturers and service providers for complex maintenance needs
Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs: Document all servicing activities parts used and timeframes for future reference
Implement preventive maintenance schedules: Establish and follow a regular maintenance plan to prevent equipment breakdowns
Train staff on safe equipment operation: Instruct airport personnel on proper use and safety precautions for stationary machinery
You have a great attention to detail
You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks
Strong customer service skills
Like to build long term relationships with your customers
Physical activity may include:
Stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (threedimensional vision ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
Qualifications
Minimum age of 18 years old
Ability to read write speak and understand the English language to include documents
Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance
Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced technicians
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Willingness to work in shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
Comfortable working with computers mobile devices and tablets
Must have a valid stateissued drivers license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA TSA Port Authority U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal as applicable)
