Job Description
Do you enjoy being outdoors and are knowledgeable about gun and shooting range safetyPortage County Parks has a part time seasonalRangemasteropening! Hours will range between 840 hrs / wk (see range schedule below.)
This position will start approximately in Juneand go through mid November 2025.
Starting pay to $17.50 / hr.
What will you be doing
- Registration of shooters at theDewey shooting range
- Collection of user fees
- Provide assistance to shooters
- Ensures range areas are safe and range users are following proper safety procedures
- General maintenance of the area
What kind of knowledge and skills do you need to have
- Ability to deal effectively with the public
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of County park ordinances
- Knowledge of guns ballistics and gun safety
What are the qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Range Schedule:
May 3rd July 27: Saturday and Sunday 1 5 pm
August 2nd Oct 16th: Saturday and Sunday 15 pmTuesday 26 pmThursday 2 6 pm
October 18th October 31st: Everyday 10 am 4 pm
November 1st November 21st: Everyday 10 am 6 pm
November 2nd April 30th: CLOSED
