Job Description

Job Summary

Continuing Education offers shortterm programs and courses that equip students with the skills they need to switch careers upskill for a promotion or reenter the workforce. Most of our programs are 312 months long and our students graduate with the training practical experience and qualifications they need to be jobready.

Continuing Education is a department of UFVs Faculty of Education Community and Human Development (FECHD). We have been offering highquality lifelong education options to people in the Fraser Valley since 1974 and are wellknown for our high standards and consistent quality. In addition to the many courses Continuing Education offers we also provide custom courses tailored to meet the needs of businesses and organizations.

Continuing Education instructors are experienced professionals in their subject areas. They teach previously developed course materials to meet learning outcomes and they incorporate their expertise reallife examples and effective teaching strategies into the course and materials. CE instructors document their students attendance participation and progress; grade assignments and assessments; and create a studentcentred learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation. They are experienced with supporting computerbased courses as well as using various technologies and learning management systems.

The Continuing Education department invites applicants to apply to join a pool of instructors qualified to teach in the Bookkeeping for Small Business certificate program.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the bookkeeping and/or accounting fields

  • Advanced digital technology skills

  • Proficient in using Microsoft 365 Teams Outlook Zoom Sage 50 and QuickBooks

Preferred qualifications:

  • Instructor training and certification (e.g. Provincial Instructor Diploma Train the Trainer certification recognized teaching credential or other educational programs for teaching adults)

  • Instructor experience in QuickBooks and Sage 50 software

  • Experience with online instruction using Learning Management System (LMS) platforms such as Moodle or Blackboard.
