DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greet guests and determine the number in their party
- Seat guests by finding a clean available table; pulling out chairs; placing clean/current menu in front of guest
- Move and arrange tables chairs and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day practicing cleanasyougo procedures
- Monitor pool area for seating availability service safety and well being of guests.
- Remains alert to all activity occurring within their assigned section of the pool area throughout their shift.
- Treats customers with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Notifies the manager immediately of any problems at the pool requiring any extra ordinary attention (i.e. guest injury guest employee conflict etc.).
- Ensures all guests follow pool rules (i.e. diving board safety running horseplay etc.).
- Place towels and chairs in desired locations in the pool area for guests
- Take in all chairs at the end of the day (stack and cover with the tarp).
- Stock pool registration counter with all needed supplies (i.e. folded towels receipts log sheets etc.).
- Clean all brass and metal rails in the pool area.
- Sweep the pool area (clearing all debris) as needed.
- Collect all used items and dispose of properly (i.e. cups and paper items in the trash towels in used towel carts etc.).
- Change pool status sign (open at the beginning of the day and close at the end of the day).
- Assist technician in keeping appearance of the pools up to hotel standards.
- Receive hotel guests at the pool counter distribute towels and facilitate lotion sales as needed
- Additional related duties as requested by the pool manager or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Visual abilities needed to effectively monitor the activity taking place in the pool area (and make pool rescues if needed).
- Must have schedule flexibility including evenings weekends holiday shifts and overtime as needed.
- Must be able to get along well with coworkers. Possess welldeveloped interpersonal skills
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to read write fluently in English
- Receive instructions and hear inquiries from guests clients or staff.
- Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift and remain calm during emergency situations.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- HS diploma or GED.
- Casino/Hotel experience preferred.
- Experience within an upscale hotel preferred.
PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Tolerance to work outdoors in heat
- Stand and move throughout the pool area as required during an assigned shift in an efficient expedient manner regardless of extremes in temperature
- Good communication and people skills required.
- Handle sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems in a timely manner
- Read write speak and understand English.
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Respond to visual and aural cues
- Work in cold & hot temperatures
- Possibly be exposed to second hand smoke
- Move lift carry push pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
