Why This Role Matters

As a Procurement Specialist II you will play a crucial role in managing the entire procurement process for the NCDIT. Your primary responsibilities will include processing requisitions and purchase orders generating contracts issuing quotations completing purchases and fostering strong vendor relationships across all divisions. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that our IT acquisitions often complex due to their technical requirements are executed seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and issue RFQs RFPs IFBs and other bid documents as needed conduct vendor conferences and hold bid openings

  • Serve as an NCDIT Agency point of contact for managing IT and nonIT agreements executed by NCDIT

  • Collaborate with various individuals within the agency at multiple levels to ensure procurement compliance with NC procurement laws and agency purchasing policies and procedures

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Procurement Manager within the Agency Procurement Office at NCDIT.


About the Division

The NCDITPurchasing section has the responsibility for all procurement functions of the agency systems evaluations review of requisitions and processing of purchase orders internal control purchasing process and procedures terms and conditions and vendor relations and negotiations. Individuals must be able to effectively interface with all parts of NCDIT Statewide IT Procurement State Purchasing and Contract legal counsel other agencies and prospective vendors on a variety of licensing technical statement of work contract terms and other procurement issues.

To qualify for this position applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:


The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
  • Experience with ARIBA eProcurement and Ariba Sourcing
  • Experience with other sourcing contracts procurement and financial tools such as NCAS/NCFS
  • Experience handling complex solicitations and procurements

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of procurement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

HYBRID/FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULES:
