Hours Worked: 12:00 AM to 12:00 AM; Working hours may be 7am 3pm 3pm 11pm OR 11pm 7am (depending on seniority bid)
Maintain the security of the Charles D. Shipley Building (e.g. monitor surveillance cameras; provide access to restricted area; monitor address & document a variety of alarm systems notifications to include fire door panic & mechanical alarms); Monitor persons entering & leaving facility (e.g. greet & screen visitors; approve/deny access into the facility; furnish access badges or parking permits to approved visitors); Respond to inquiries by telephone &/or in person & record such actions in the appropriate log (e.g. screen & direct calls; take messages; direct visitors; answer general questions); Control access to facilities & surrounding grounds by operating remote access electronic doors & security gates; Provide emergency communications via intercom systems radio systems telephones or other electronic notification systems; Relay information to officers &/or dispatchers on critical &/or routine incidents which require a law enforcement or security response.
Conduct routine security checks of the premises (e.g. check & inspect doors windows fences & gates; secures &/or locks damaged &/or unlocked doors & windows as required); Perform safety inspections of equipment for malfunction or safety violation (e.g. monitor the operation of the heating ventilating & air conditioning systems & notifies supervisors &/or maintenance personnel of any problems; check for fire leaks weather induced damage correct lighting building hazards &/or unauthorized persons); Perform other duties as assigned.
