Our client a fastgrowing and wellrespected Commercial Insurance Managing General Agent (MGA) is currently seeking a Fleet Underwriter to join their team in Hamilton Ontario. With offices in Ontario and Edmonton they serve retail brokers across Canada offering a comprehensive suite of transportation and commercial insurance products.
Their experienced underwriting team is dedicated to providing tailored firstclass insurance solutions that adapt to clients evolving riskmanagement needs. They value strong broker relationships innovation and a clientcentric approach backed by competitive pricing and service excellence.
As a Fleet Underwriter you will focus on underwriting within the Auto Physical Damage (APD) and Motor Truck Cargo (MTC) product lines. You will assess risks provide insurance solutions and work collaboratively with brokers to build a profitable and sustainable book of business.
Underwrite trucking and transportation submissions and related commercial auto lines to offer competitive tailored solutions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail broker partners to drive new and renewal business.
Accurately price authorize and document moderate to complex commercial accounts within established authority and Lloyds guidelines.
Apply rating matrices underwriting parameters and policy wordings with precision.
Provide insights and recommendations to support continuous improvement in underwriting processes and service delivery.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a high standard of underwriting performance.
A positive attitude strong work ethic and a teamoriented mindset.
4 years of Experience in commercial transportation underwriting specifically with APD and MTC lines is preferred.
Excellent customer service communication and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Analytical thinking and confident decisionmaking in a fastpaced environment.
Comfortable with evolving technologies and adaptable to change.

Monday to Friday work schedule: 8:30am to 4:30pm (35hour work week)
