ABOUT THE POSITION:
Start your career as a new Psychologist with an internship in the Northern Territory an exciting mix of tropical and desert landscapes with world leading national parks and diverse wildlife. Joining our NT team presents an opportunity to experience parts of Australia that many people never see whilst at the same time doing work that is impactful and interesting. Relocation package available for the successful candidate looking to move interstate for the position.

Our Darwin team complete a range of assessments with diverse client populations including:
- Early childhood developmental assessment
- FASD assessment
- ASD assessment
- Psychosocial assessment
- Behavioural assessment
- Parenting capacity assessment (often inclusive of mental health assessment)
- Dementia assessment
- Forensic assessment
The use of assessments relating to learning difficulties executive functioning depression anxiety PTSD etc. are also utilised as appropriate.
Psychological intervention therapy and behaviour support services are provided using a diverse range of modalities inclusive of individual family based and service system interventions.
Our client groups are diverse and while largely funded through NDIS and Territory Families are inclusive of a wide range of presentations stemming from developmental trauma developmental disability neuro developmental disorders traumatic brain injury and mental health issues.
While our office base and primary work is in Darwin we also offer a range of opportunities to work regionally (e.g. Katherine Alice Springs) and within remote Indigenous communities.
Skills And Experiences
ABOUT YOU:
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology and eligibility for AHPRA registration;
- Experience or interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities mental health issues and / or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
- Experience or interest in providing clinical and / or behaviour assessment intervention and support in the disability outofhome care and / or other relevant sectors.
Due to the nature of our business it is required that our staff:
- have a current Drivers Licence;
- have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening or the ability to attain these checks.
