Job Title: .5 FTE Grant Writer
Location: Klamath Union High School
Reports To: Principal
Job Summary:
The Grant Writer is responsible for identifying funding opportunities developing compelling grant proposals and managing grant application processes to support Klamath Union High Schools academic extracurricular CTE and facility needs. This parttime position requires collaboration with administrators faculty and community partners to secure financial resources that advance the schools mission and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Research & Proposal Development:
- Research and identify federal state local corporate and foundation funding opportunities aligned with school needs and goals.
- Write and submit persuasive grant proposals applications and supporting documents within deadlines.
- Develop project narratives budgets and supporting materials that align with grant guidelines and priorities.
- Work closely with administrators teachers and staff to gather project information and ensure proposal accuracy.
Grant Management & Reporting:
- Track and manage grant timelines requirements and deliverables.
- Prepare required reports and documentation for awarded grants to ensure compliance with funder expectations.
- Assist in the development of grantrelated budgets and ensure proper allocation of funds in collaboration with finance staff.
- Maintain organized records of grant applications awards reports and communications.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Coordinate meetings with stakeholders to discuss funding needs project development and grant strategies.
- Communicate funding opportunities and grant updates to school leadership and relevant departments.
- Build and maintain relationships with grant agencies foundations and community partners.
- Support the promotion of grantfunded projects through school communications and media outlets when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in English Communications Nonprofit Management Business Administration Education or a related field.
- Previous experience in grant writing and fundraising preferred especially within educational or nonprofit settings.
- Strong writing research editing and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and budgeting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and grant management tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various stakeholders.
Work Environment & Expectations:
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
- Must be able to attend meetings school events and site visits related to grantfunded projects.
- Expected to work collaboratively with school staff and leadership to fulfill funding goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive project and funding information.
