Principal Game Security Engineer

Scopely is looking for a Principal Game Security Engineer on an unannounced AAA crossplatform game in Culver City on a hybrid basis or remotely in the US.

In this position youd own and execute on the projects security roadmap playing a key role in safeguarding the integrity of the game. Secure clientserver communication code obfuscation data analytics these should all be things youre intimately familiar with.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the product owner for game security ensuring best in class protection
• Architect and implement solutions that help us prevent cheating and other exploits
• Collaborate with the rest of the game development team to ensure best practices are being followed for secure code
• Align with project leadership and other key stakeholders presenting security proposals escalation policies and providing insights on the health of the game from a security perspective
• Engage with the analytics team on instrumentation of events that allow for realtime monitoring and identification of cheats
• Identify areas where we can bring in third party solutions

Requirements:

• 10 years of software development experience in the game industry with a focus on cheat prevention and cheat detection
• Extensive experience with C C and ideally a scripting language like Python
• Deep familiarity with Unreal Engine and live service games
• Experience with cross platform game development
• Experience working with data analysis technologies like BigQuery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to convey domain information to nontechnical audiences

Bonus points for:

• Experience with cloud providers like AWS GCP or Azure
• Knowledge of OS internals
• Previous leadership experience
