Job Description
Baystate Health western Massachusettss premier healthcare provider and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC) a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence seeks a Nurse Unit Manager to join our leadership team in the Preop and PACU!
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
- This unit has a highly experienced team that prepares and recovers adult and pediatric patients for the operating rooms.
- Our unit supports the main level 1 trauma OR at Baystate Medical Center which includes seventeen operating rooms.
- This is a high acuity fast paced patient focused and collaborative environment.
- 80 total prep/recovery bays. 60 new bays built and 20 preexisting
- The Nurse Managers responsibilities are centralized within five major areas: Clinical Practice and Quality Outcomes Human Resource Leadership Management of the Environment Financial Growth and Stewardship and Strategic Planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: BSN Required Masters Preferred.
- Certified Registered Nurse Operating Room (CAPA or CPAN) preferred.
- Experience: At least five years RN experience supervisor/leadership experience required.
- Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider certification required.
