Job Description

Position Highlights

  • Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Ave Fort Worth TX 76104
  • Work hours: Fulltime 36 hours weekly 312 hours shifts 7:00 am 7:00 pm
  • 28 bed Med surg Tele unit improves the quality of care for the tele are admitted to this floor for multiple acute chronic diseases such aspneumonia sepsis pancreatitis weakness failure to thrive GI bleeds Diverticulitis trachs DKA BKA infections diabetic renal urology with traveling tele beds.

  • Graduate of accredited vocational nursing program required.
  • LVN Licensed Vocational Nursing License upon hire required.
  • BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
  • ACLS within 90 days required
  • CPI within 90 days required
  • 1 year experience as a bedside LVN with experience in passing medications preferred

In addition to the required qualifications a successful LVN will

  • Demonstrate ahigh degree of confidentiality positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fastpaced high stress environment.
  • Maintain a positive customerfocused attitude toward patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
  • Have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems

Position Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and families need for information.

Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks

Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.

Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.

Individualizes care measures to reflect specific patient population. Performs technical procedures safely proficiently.

Demonstrates critical thinking.

Adheres to national safety goals in care delivery.

Monitors patients.
