The Lewis Katz School of Medicine is seeking an accomplished and dynamic physician leader to serve as the Section Chief of Hematology within the Department of Medicine. This leadership role will involve fostering a collaborative innovative and academically rigorous environment with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence research and education. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Sol Sherry Research Center enhancing the integration of clinical care and cuttingedge research in hematology.
The individual in this position will lead a team of hematologists collaborate with other medical and administrative departments and ensure the highest standards of patient care education and scholarly work in the field of hematology. The Section Chief will provide clinical guidance mentorship to faculty fellows and residents and foster an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership expertise in hematology and the ability to engage with academic clinical and research communities effectively.

The Section Chief and faculty are members of the Sol Sherry Research Center and Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital. The Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center has a vibrant and interdisciplinary research program focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of thrombosis and hemostasis and developing new therapeutic strategies for blood diseases. As such the Section Chief will:

Educational Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
This position requires an M.D. D.O. or foreign equivalent. Board certification or eligibility through the American Board of Internal Medicine is preferred. Successful completion of residency in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology from an ACGMEaccredited program is preferred. International postgraduate medical education may be considered in lieu of an ACGME accredited residency and fellowship.
Qualified candidates must possess credentials for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor in the medical school and have an outstanding clinical care research scholarship and mentoring/education record. Candidates should be active participants in specialty organizations/committees at the regional and national levels and can obtain medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Faculty Appointment Benefits/Compensation
The annual compensation shall be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the individual selected for the position. The Katz School of Medicine home base is a modern 11story medical education and research building with stateoftheart facilities and technologies.
