Career Development Program Supervisor

$8025 to $9942 Monthly

Under general direction the Career Development Program Supervisor plans coordinates supervises and evaluates participantoriented career development services and activities at program sites; develops and maintains relationships with community organizations and representatives to promote and develop opportunities for the program and its participants.

The current vacancy oversees the Chatsworth and Santa Clarita offices.

The eligiblity list established through this recruitment may be used to fill other vacancies.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:
  • Applicable state and federal laws and regulations and LACOE policies
  • Principles and techniques of employee selection hiring practices job search and placement
  • Career development assessment and counseling techniques
  • Economic and labor market conditions and trends
  • Principles and methods of training instruction and behavior modification
  • Laws and regulations pertaining to managing a diverse workforce
  • Fundamental concepts of employment laws codes and regulations including EEO FLSA FMLA and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:A bachelors degree in public or business administration psychology sociology political science economics or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience:Three years of technical experience in human resources placement employment or career or job development including two years of experience in leading or delivering professional training services.

Additional Requirements:A valid California drivers license and availability of private transportation or ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.

Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Technical Interview.
