LEADERSHIP GIVING OFFICER Biological Engineering (BE) will create and execute a comprehensive strategic development plan designed to raise awareness strengthen relationships and garner financial support for BEs initiatives and academic programs; manage build and execute successful fundraising strategies for a mature portfolio (including Core Team) creating individualized solicitation plans leading to major and principal gifts in support of MITs fundraising priorities capital projects and other departmental priorities; work collaboratively to increase the visibility of BE and establish a thriving community of supporters including both philanthropic and industry partnerships; take part in facetoface donor/industry partner/prospect visits arrange faculty meetings site tours and events draft highlevel proposals create materials and disseminate content and collateral related to BE; and help maximize the Department Heads/faculty travel to engage with prospective donors and industry partners.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree preferably in an engineering or scientific field; a minimum of three years of direct fundraising experience preferably with a higher education organization; exceptional organizational project management communication and time management skills; active learner and effective communicator who has a strong interest in the BE mission; exceptional interpersonal skills for relating with diverse constituencies including faculty alumni resource development colleagues and industrial partners; robust writing skills with an ability to produce highquality and compelling written materials for department leadership; knowledge of professional options and career strategies particularly but not exclusively in engineering or other related fields; experience presenting content to large groups; proficiency with office software including Word Excel and PowerPoint; ability to handle confidential information using discretion and judgment; proficiency with prospect management systems or other CRM systems; and ability to manage multiple projects with confidentiality and discretion; PREFERRED: Experience with research university culture and administration;and a proven record of successful cultivation and solicitation of 6figure gifts and entrepreneurial approach to developing a prospect pool. This is a 2year position with a possibility of an extension based on the availability of funding.
Regional outofstate travel and ability to work evening and occasional weekend hours with advance noticeis required (20% of time).
