Technology Assistant General Description
The Technology Assistant serves as a member of the Information Technology department and will provide support and assistance to staff for SHEF technology and communication related issues.

Technology Assistant Essential Duties
- Analyzing technical issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Provide first tier support for IT requests through the ticketing system in a timely manner escalating to the appropriate IT contact as necessary.
- Communicating effectively with endusers to provide guidance and instructions on problem resolution.
- Provide support to and collaborate with endusers to provide guidance and instructions on problem resolution.
- Assist with managing employee software access levels for Athena Dentrix Windows and other programs as necessary.
- Maintain and support user account information.
- Maintain and assist with active directory user management.
- Assist with maintaining the IT asset management system.
- Assist with IT inventory on a quarterly and yearly basis.
- Maintain basic knowledge of a telephone system.
- Maintain a basic knowledge of SFHC IT systems and services.
- Contact vendors and service providers of technology solutions as assigned.
Technology Assistant Skills Required
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff patients and the public.
- Ability to critically think and troubleshoot common IT problems.
- Enthusiasm for working as a member of a team in a rapidly changing environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences in a clear concise complete and accurate manner.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks work under pressure and prioritize workload.
- Effective and efficient time management.
- Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
- Knowledge of standard office machines including copier fax multiline phones printers scanners etc.
Technology Assistant Education and Experience
- Valid Kansas Drivers license;
- Associates Degree or BS in Computer Information Systems Computer Science; Computer Technology or relatedfield OR
- A minimum of two (2) years prior experience preferably in a healthrelated field;
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware software and networking systems.
- Knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems and MS Office Suite software; smartphones tablets and other mobile devices.
- Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to serve an ethnically and economically diverse patient and employeebase.
