Quality Technician (Day Shift)
- Burlington WA
Position Overview
The Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall quality and compliance of products and processes within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a solid understanding of quality control and assurance practices making it a more advanced position than a Quality Technician I.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of output samples using industrystandard methods to ensure product quality.
- Verify that assembly and production processes meet established standards procedures and legal requirements.
- Review blueprints and specifications to confirm that finished products align with design requirements.
- Document inspection results including summaries of rework and waste and enter data into quality databases.
- Train production teams on quality control measures to enhance product consistency and reduce defects.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance overall product quality and reduce waste.
- Monitor equipment usage to ensure safety and compliance removing any equipment that does not meet standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and radiographs to assess product quality.
- Perform quality tests at various stages of the manufacturing process to verify conformance.
- Collect and analyze statistical quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development of test methods and inspection plans to enhance quality assurance processes.
- Identify root causes of product defects and scrap and implement corrective actions.
- Verify that all measurement equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Conduct quality checks on raw materials semifinished and finished products according to Work Instructions (WIs).
- Suggest updates to WIs to reduce scrap and improve product performance.
- Support production staff with ongoing quality and process improvements working closely with management.
- Generate statistical analysis and quality reports for raw materials and finished products as required.
- Utilize and maintain measurement tools and instruments according to safety and quality standards.
- Regularly review and suggest improvements to production recipes and quality control tools.
- Provide hourly quality updates to management as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and experience with statistical software packages.
- Strong understanding of problemsolving techniques including 8D 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Aptitude for learning and applying new knowledge to solve problems.
- Skilled in reading blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) drawings.

Education and Experience
- Manufacturing experience in a technical role required.
- Previous experience in PV module manufacturing preferred.
