The CT Technologist performs all imaging and clinical duties associated with computed tomography including special imaging techniques and assisting radiologists with interventional procedures requiring CT guidance.
This role supports the mission vision values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program
ARRT (CT)
Current BCLS Certification
Alternatively ARRT (R); employee must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 1 year of completing orientation
TDH Certification
1 year of related experience preferred (new graduates considered based on department needs)
Effective teamwork and communication skills

Effective time management and organizational abilities
Bilingual skills preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (preferred)
Professionalism composure and confidentiality when working with patients and the public
Familiar with value management techniques for cost improvement
Verify patient identity and procedure
Confirm informed consent is obtained
Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation
Consult with radiologists when necessary
Understand and contribute to total patient care
Report availability to team leader
Offer assistance across department areas
Adapt to changes in schedule
Complete procedures accurately and promptly
Monitor condition of equipment
Notify team leader of malfunctions and supply needs
Maintain inventory and stock supplies
Use PACS and HIS/RIS to document procedures and input charges
Practice costefficiency and waste reduction
Wear film badge and monitor exposure levels
Follow aseptic and infection control procedures
Disinfect equipment and clean workspaces regularly
Operate all equipment safely
Support orientation and training of new staff
Participate in student education
Take on duties of absent colleagues
Contribute to staff skill development
Engage in departmental and hospital improvement initiatives
Provide friendly courteous service to patients
Assist patients to procedure locations
Coordinate inpatient and outpatient transportation
Demonstrate proper setup of procedures and sterile fields
Select appropriate supplies and prepare patients
Operate CT imaging equipment proficiently
Assist radiologists during CTguided interventional procedures
