Job Description

The Science Teacher will deliver highquality science instruction to grades 712 students. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans aligned with Arkansas state standards assessing student progress and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problemsolving skills.

Curriculum and Instruction

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Arkansas K12 Science Standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Incorporate technology and realworld applications to enhance scientific understanding.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments providing timely feedback.

Classroom Management

  • Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and respecting all students.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and discipline.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and share best practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address concerns.

Other Responsibilities (As Needed)

  • Supporting student recruitment enrollment and retention activities.
  • Write letters of recommendation for students.
  • Additional tasks as requested to support student achievement school culture and team collaboration.

Qualifications :

Education: Bachelors degree in Science Science Education or related field required.

Licenses: Standard Arkansas Teaching License in Science 712; or eligible for licensure through reciprocity; or enrolled in an Alternative Licensure Program (ALP).

Experience: Prior teaching experience at the secondary level preferred.


Additional Information :

Teacher salaries will be based on the experience degree level and licensure per the SY 202526 Salary Schedule.
