Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in ADAS/ISS* Sensors and ECUs you will play a pivotal role in our engineering team. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks which are critical to the success of our projects both for products that have SOPed and those in the stages of new development.

*ADAS: Advanced Driving Assistant System

*ISS: Interior Sensing System

For SOP Products:

  • Problem Solving and Failure Analysis: You will be responsible for conducting indepth problemsolving sessions and performing failure analyses to support our series products ensuring their ongoing reliability and performance.
  • Mounting Concept Development: You will develop innovative mounting concepts that align with both customer requirements and our internal standards contributing to the overall design integrity of our products.
  • Design Cost Optimization (RPP): You will generate and implement costreduction strategies within the mechanical design process aiming to enhance the competitiveness of our products in the market.
  • Global Communication: You will engage in proactive communication with Boschs worldwide development network fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organization.

For New Development Products:

  • Mechanical Concept Development: You will develop mechanical concepts that meet both customer specifications and our internal requirements laying the foundation for successful product development.
  • 3D Modeling and Design: Utilizing stateoftheart software such as Creo you will bring concepts to life through precise 3D modeling ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
  • 2D Drawings and Specifications: You will create detailed 2D drawings and component specifications that serve as the blueprint for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Design Review Leadership: You will lead and conduct design concept reviews ensuring that all aspects of the design meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
  • Application of Engineering Methods: You will apply a range of product engineering methods including but not limited to DBRFM FAM FMEA and DFMA throughout the mechanical development phase to optimize design and minimize risks.
  • Manufacturing Process Definition: You will propose and define manufacturing processes that are efficient costeffective and scalable ensuring smooth production runs.
  • Supplier Collaboration: You will engage in technical discussions with suppliers working closely with purchasing and supplier management to ensure component quality meets our stringent standards.
  • Series Production Support: You will support the release of purchased parts for series production ensuring a seamless transition from development to manufacturing.
  • Line Setup and Sample Build: You will assist in setting up production lines and building samples providing handson support to ensure that the manufacturing process is fully aligned with design specifications.
  • Technical Documentation: You will create comprehensive Technical Customer Documents (TCDs) for each project ensuring that all relevant information is accurately documented and easily accessible.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise creativity and strong communication skills as you will be at the forefront of our product development efforts. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping the future of our ADAS/ISS sensors and ECUs for Bosch.


Qualifications :

Education:

Essential: Bachelor in electromechanical engineering mechanical engineering material science or similar

Desirable: Master in electromechanical engineering mechanical engineering material science or similar

Working Experience:

Essential: 3 years mechanical design working experience in automotive or consumer electronics.5 years mechanical design working experience in automotive electronics.

Desirable: 5 years mechanical design working experience in automotive electronics.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Skilled in 3D model and 2D drawing creation familiar with CreO (ProE)
  • Familiar with mainstream material processing methods e.g. plastic tooling machining and diecasting process.
  • DRBFM method experience
  • Automotive product development experience preferred esp. ADAS/ISS product.
