Restaurant General Manager

As Restaurant General Manager you will provide vision and leadership that fosters an engaged team and ensures quality efficiency and superior service.  This position will be responsible for the effective and efficient day to day operation of a fast paced premier dining establishment.

Salary Range : $65000 $70000 based on skills & previous experience

Reporting to the Director Food & Beverage responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
• Responsible for the service excellence and efficient day to day operation
• Oversee the recruitment mentorship and development of department leaders and employees
• Actively coach all employees to ensure that superior guest service is the primary focus
• Participate in monthly forecasting and month end commentary
• Assume responsibility for cleanliness repair and maintenance reporting any deficiencies as required
• Conduct scheduled monthly departmental meetings
• Recognize and correct guest service issues throughout an established presence on the floor and respond to guest concerns quickly and professionally
• Analyze data and trends to create strategies for improvement while being innovative and upholding the Fairmont standards
• Involved in ongoing food/beverage menu development and educating colleagues
• Ensure accurate biweekly payroll for employees and leaders while maintaining an accurate vacation schedule
• Ensure par stock levels by calculating inventory ordering and retrieving supplies.
• Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancing measures
• Create promotions and recommend price adjustments based on market trends quarterly competitive analysis and product sales mix
• To develop and maintain a safety culture within the department and ensure departmental adherence to and awareness of Health & Safety standards
• To liaise with other Food and Beverage departments to ensure that all resources are being equally shared and that the entire division operates as a unified force
• Maintain the strictest confidentiality at all times on all matters pertaining to management staff and any associated food and beverage matters
• Supports all Fairmont Hotel & Resort initiatives
• Assist in coverage/oversight of seasonal outlets as required
• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Food & Beverage or Hotel Management

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include:

• Minimum five years of senior experience in Food & Beverage Management
• Strong beverage culinary and wine knowledge required
• Proserve Certified
• Postsecondary degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management an asset
• Knowledge of Fairmont Hotels Profile Plus Birchstreet Watson Avero all regarded as helpful assets
