SEL Engineering Services Inc. (SELES) part of the Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Inc. (SEL) family of companies seeks professional innovative and detailed individuals for our Project Engineer Commissioning position located at our Houston Texas field office.

Project Engineer Commissioning (Multiple Openings)
Responsibilities:
The Project EngineerCommissioning is required to possess understand and apply the fundamental concepts practices and procedures of power system commissioning and site acceptance field testing and related company products (involving system protection software integration and automation industrial controls PLCs relevant industry protocolssuch as IEC61850 DNP and ModbusEthernet systems protocol analyzers and industry SCADA practices). The incumbent will be expected to apply the principles of electrical and mechatronics engineering to: (1) commission functionally test troubleshoot and diagnose issues relating to control system logic communications input/outputs and field wiring; (2) train and assist customers with the creation design configuration validation installation commissioning and operation of electric power protection and automation systems; (3) complete and implement assigned work within agreedupon scope schedule and budget to a high level of quality and safety; (4) participate in the preparation of functional design specifications; (5) prepare and maintain detailed design documents reports checklists test reports and deliverables; (6) provide support for other company marketing sales application engineering and development activities; and (7) continuously identify measure and improve company engineering processes.
TRAVEL:
These fulltime positions will be based out of the companys Houston Texas field office. However since the company has numerous customers nationwide the Project Engineer Commissioning will be required to travel 70% of the time to various customer sites throughout the continental United States. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel at least 70% of the time.
