Job Description

DeBraKuempel Inc. is a leading provider of mechanical electrical and plumbing services to Cincinnati Dayton Columbus Evansville Lexington Louisville Eastern Kentucky and the surrounding areas. We deliver our services through the full lifecycle including design build and new construction major repairs and replacements and ongoing preventive services. DeBraKuempel is wholly owned by EMCOR Group Inc. a national provider of mechanical and electrical construction and facilities services including planning consulting and operations and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To best meet the needs of our Organization and Customers the ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Participate in monthly job status reviews with Project Managers Project Coordinators and Executive Leadership focusing on job profitability cost and timing forecasting billing collections and risk to job completion.
  • Analyze job costs including labor materials and subcontractor expenses. Ensure costs are accurately allocated to projects.
  • Set up new jobs ensuring completeness and accuracy including proper contract documentation and accurate setup of job cost estimates based on approved new jobs provided by our operations team.
  • Enter approved changed orders and approved invoices (including retainage invoices) into our accounting system.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to resolve questions discrepancies and issues on jobs throughout the month and generally provide support to Project Managers and Project Coordinators where needed.
  • Complete various monthend tasks as part of the close cycle including closing jobs and updating job cost forecasts provided by Project Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles company policies and regulatory requirements related to job costing and financial reporting.
  • Other related accounting duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully the ideal candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient Analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and process flow.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a serviceminded approach.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent field is required. Comparable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry or public accounting is a plus but is not required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Teams Outlook Word and Excel)
