Description

Torch Technologies is seeking an accomplished and forwardleaning Senior Digital Engineer to lead enterpriselevel innovation and digital development across all operational domainsincluding air ground and maritime systems. This key technical leader will play a vital role in shaping and executing the U.S. Army PEO Aviation (PEO AVN)s Digital Engineering (DE) strategy with a strategic focus on airworthiness certification sustainment engineering and enterprisewide digital transformation.

This role requires deep systems engineering expertise and the ability to lead complex technical initiatives involving ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE) Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence big data analytics and machine learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply advanced methods theories and research techniques to investigate and solve complex systems engineering challenges.
  • Lead and implement Digital Engineering initiatives in alignment with the PEO AVN enterprise strategy with a focus on the digital thread and sustainment lifecycle.
  • Architect and drive MBSE approaches across the program lifecycle ensuring integration with airworthiness certification and sustainment goals.
  • Plan conduct and technically direct major phases of significant projects coordinating crossfunctional technical support teams.
  • Conduct advanced investigations testing and process refinement aligned with evolving DE practices and mission needs.
  • Develop and maintain UAFcompliant models in support of digital thread implementation architecture integration and enterprise interoperability.
  • Review current practices literature patents and technologies relevant to PEO AVNs mission to inform solution development and innovation.
  • Oversee development efforts from concept through production including validation verification integration and sustainment.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities for compliance with technical requirements and deliverable expectations.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders industry partners and internal teams to ensure alignment of digital engineering solutions with servicespecific mission requirements.
  • Contribute to business development activities including white papers technical proposals and capture strategies for technology transition and insertion.
  • Represent Torch Technologies in technical exchanges advisory roles and industry forums; mentor junior engineers and shape internal innovation practices.


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace Mechanical Electrical Software Industrial & Systems Engineering or a related technical field and 10 years of related experience. OR
  • Masters degree in one of the above disciplines and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience indriving Digital Engineering and ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts in complex multiservice defense programs (e.g. Army Air Force Navy USMC SOCOM).
  • Experience in digital transformation MBSE leadership and program execution across joint service environments.
  • Proven expertise with MBSE tools and frameworks such as Cameo SysML and DoDAF.
  • Track record of success leading largescale defense initiatives including ACAT1C programs.
  • Strong communication collaboration and technical mentoring skills.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced working knowledge of MBSE methodologies and practical experience applying SysML in missioncritical environments.
  • Familiarity with standards such as FACE MOSA DO178C and Joint Architecture Frameworks.
  • Understanding of supply chain and lifecycle logistics challenges across air land and maritime platforms.
  • Prior experience integrating digital engineering into sustainment certification and enterprise transformation efforts.
